- ArtLog: continuing to make art about recent travels
- November 30th, 2013
Went up to the workbench, thinking "Hm, not really inspired just now. OK," and sat there thinking about the travels and finishing the one about friends of Prince Eugen. Then proceeded to have a wonderful hilarious time making four pieces, one of which is a pendant about going to museums, called "Tea, with a Chance of Artifacts." By the time I got to the earrings called "'Swedes conquered 'em,' said the selkie. 'You know how they get," I was laughing and deciding I should probably go get some tea myself before I got too silly to hold my pliers.
Inspiration is overrated, at least as far as getting started. When I show up at the workbench, the muse usually does too. (And when I don't show up, it's a lot harder for the muse to find me, for some reason.)
Anyhow, tea now. And lunch, since I didn't yet. Then another bit of work perhaps, before I go drop in at a friend's place.
