- ArtLog: sorting beads
- January 17th, 2011
After they let me out of the hospital and before I came home, I did a little bit of bead shopping, just to make sure everything still worked. I am going to observe my jewelry-making and see if anything's different, and let Dr. A know what I observe, because he asked. This is why I joked about needing to go bead-shopping because of doctor's orders. Best rationalization ever, yah?
I have ascertained that I am still susceptible to opals. Ahem.
Anyhow, I had also shopped before the stroke. I had a lovely day out with a friend, and that expedition led to a stop at a shop where, due to complicated things I can't go into just now, there was a considerable lot of ocean jasper at a price that said, "No, really, just buy all of me. No, really. See the tags on me? Yes, I am priced well. I will not last. BUY ME." So there I was, possessed by (and now of) a great deal of ocean jasper.
Some bead-sorting is in order, and possibly a little re-jiggering of some Beads of the Month . . . though perhaps the extra goodies ought to become Unexpected Magpies. Hmmm! I could even do color-coordinated packages.
Sorting beads is a great goodness. And it's part of getting back to normal. Soon Juan will come through and say, "Counting flax seeds, sweetie?" and lure me up to watch something he has saved for me.
Life is good.
