- HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!

I am the happiest (and possibly tiredest, but I'm OK) Lioness what can be got. THANK YOU all for making this amazing birthday trip possible and wonderful and seven kinds of good.
Farthing Party was great, and I got snippets of time with people I really really liked, and wished I could get ten times more snippets with other people I really really like, but there it is, it's a convention and that means more fun than can be packed into a few days, even folded a great many times.
I will do trip report later, with photos even (!), but right now I must check laundry and then fall over and sleep for a while. Highlights so far include the lovely birthday party that Evelyn shared with me (E power!) with a really nice cake and lots of fun, the good company at sushi and other places, the three-hour mind-meld lunch with a new friend, the incredible dinner at Au Pied du Cochon, and too many more things to list. (Lowlight was the incredibly astonishingly awful thing that an Amtrak employee did to me and two of my traveling companions -- no, three things, but I'll talk about those later; I do have hopes for a happy ending, once we follow up with the appropriate people at Amtrak who deal with ADA issues. But that can wait until I've slept on it... and frankly, Amtrak should count their blessings that I'm going to sleep on it, because if I went at it while exhausted and still in the full flower of reaction, I would have both ears, the tail, and the entire rest of the herd. Just sayin.' But sleep will bring measured prudence back again.
And my aim is better when I'm rested, anyway. Seriously, though, I do think we'll have a happy ending. You guys know I love Amtrak, and this thing is so out of character for them that I would be greatly astonished if they did not make it right.)
OK, laundry, bed... and then I FLY TO NEW ZEALAND!
