My beloved Mike is gone.
Um.

More than that is hard to say just now. I think it will be a bit before I am coherent.

There is a post on Making Light.

Please pass the word to the people who loved him, liked his work, and so on. There will certainly be some sort of memorial service, but it won't be for at least a couple of weeks. Late October is the best I can give right now. More when I have it.

If there is anything even slightly useful I can do -- a hotdish or some fresh bread, helping you or someone else closer to him than I was with a household chore if it just feels like too much, driving someone somewhere they need to be, whatever -- you let me know. mris at-sign marissalingen dot com. Oh, shit. I'm so sorry. Even though in some ways it was expected, still it must have been a shock--must be a shock. I'm glad you at least have extra-wonderful support, emotional and practical.

I barely knew Mike, but he impressed me as a wise and witty human being, and I am so sorry for your loss.
