getting better at letting go of impedimentia
Apparently I am getting better at letting go of stuff. I just sorted out some rubber stamps to go on eBay. When I was finished, the ones I was keeping fit in one drawer of the five-drawer tiered mini-file, and I had forty-seven individual stamps plus a multi-stamp Bad Badtz set to go to auction.

Stamps are lovely fun, and I really admire the art that some people make with them, but I'm not doing that now. Moreover, I already have an art, and I shall concentrate on it. (Which is not hard at all, as it sometimes crowds almost everything else out of my brain; ask Mike or Shamanix -- Juan's used to it, after nearly twenty years.) Other people do wonderful rubberstamp collage art; I shall enjoy their work. (Maybe trade for it now and then, if I'm lucky.)

Anyhow, I'm ready to let those things go. I haven't decided yet whether I'll add the meerkats stamp to the pile, and I am still strongly considering making a fringed velvet scarf with the Michael Manning image on it, but we shall see. I just might add them to the forty-seven plus. I'll post something here when the auctions are ready to go up, in case any of you are rubber stamp fiends. (Are you?)

I'm not a rubber stamp fiend, but I am a Bad Badt fiend!

I am not a fiend, but I do love stamps. Corner stamps, border stamps, and florals, mostly.

I've got a bunch of florals in the basket to go to auction. (Am going to put things up individually, or maybe in pairs and trios in certain cases.) Some are quite large, like the hydrangea bloom one, and there's a really big full-block iris I'm not sure about yet. There's some ivy, though. And I haven't decided yet about my triangle spiral corner stamp, or the other corner stamp.

It's really nice to get the collection trimmed down, I must say, and it helps to know that other folks will have fun with the stamps.

Are there particular florals you're on the lookout for? (In stamps or in general.) Oh, and I have some goodies I need to send you.

My sister scrapbooks and loves meerkats. I'll have to point her to your auctions!

I have an MHS friend who loves only her children more than the following 3 things: rubber stamps, meerkats, and bargains. It's all that keeps her going day after day making rippin' good cookies.

Whoa! I had forgotten about the cookies. Hee!

I found a page of interesting things about Ripon. I had known about the birthplace of the Republican party (as I am sure you also already know), but I didn't know about the prisoner of war camp, or about Carrie Lane Chapman Catt, or that wossname Selfridge was born in Ripon.

And I will let you know when I put the auctions up. Might be this weekend. I've decided to put the meerkat stamp up, as somebody will certainly get lots of fun out of it. (It's three meerkats standing in the "I am alert and keeping an eye on things in my sector" pose they do, with each one watching a different direction.)

I added seven other stamps to the basket, too, so this is really a grand clearing out of stuff. Yay.
