I'm off to the convention now. I'll let you know how it went when I get back, whenever that may be.

Back from convention
Well, that was a big day.

Nope, I'm not a delegate to the national convention. Not at this point, anyway; I ran, but was not chosen. However, after the convention today I was strongly encouraged to run in Rochester, at the state convention, which felt pretty nice, so we shall see.

The people we did choose will do a great job, I'm sure.

And now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to fall over in exhaustion for a while.

I just want to say that lipreading all day at a political convention against a screen on which various things are projected is VERY TIRING.

Head all hurty now. Going to spend the rest of the day growing back, I think. I'll make sense as soon as I can.

(And yeah, this sort of thing used to happen to me more often at science fiction conventions than it does now, but I have evolved a lot of strategies there. Today, though, it was a high school auditorium with unpleasant lighting and no good choices on where to sit and see, really. Did the best I could, but it's costing me now. That's why I didn't go to the gathering at the pub afterwards; I couldn't face the thought of lipreading any more people in poorly-lit maelstroms of noise.)

Ow. Don't mind me. I'll just sit here and say ow periodically for a while, and look dazed.
