ArtLog: I am teh mighty hunter.
    Bwa-ha-ha.

    No, really.

Stopped into one of my regular bead haunts in Manhattan today (yes, I am making a stealth visit, yes, I am sorry I did not get together with people, yes, I am going home tomorrow) and found that their rack of sterling silver clasps looked just as it did last fall.

    Before silver prices went up.

Did I buy stuff? You betcha.

Hey, they didn't get around to marking it up; I am going to jump on that. Especially since I just priced such things at the crackhouse local bead wholesaler last week, and am extremely up-to-date on local-to-me prices.

I figure I saved about 40%, actually. Markups are never just the rise.

Anyhow, some new work is coming home with me, and some beads. I was trying to be good, and mostly I was... until I saw that in another of my regular bead haunts, somebody had decided to tidy up by tying all the ones and twos of leftover strands into bundles. Then someone, possibly the same someone, had priced them.

I haven't seen Imperial jasper in the single digits for quite some time.

And then they took their sale discount off.

Happy, happy Lioness. Expect new shinies of great goodness.

Aww! I am all thrilled and blushy, you guys. There's a flickr group for pictures of elisian shinies and there's lots of photos in there!

If you have any photos of your shinies, especially with you in them, and you want to put them in there, I would be delighted and grateful.

It's soo cool to see the shinies with their people!

So... I want to do this thing again. Not for a year or two, but not too long from now, either.

Staying with people and making shinies was a lot of fun last time. I want to do it again: collecting hugs and beads and anecdotes and good memories all the way along, being inspired, and seeing the beautiful land, from sea to shining sea and up into the glorious northern lands and down into some of the medium-southerly bits here and there. (Need more southerly bits next time, as I shorted them last time.)

So... where should I think about going this next time?
