constructive in the face of obstacles
So what with the health stuff and so forth, it's one big boulder-push this week, and a lot of it's uphill. I am being constructive.

Tell me about something you're being constructive about, please? It helps to have constructive company.

We can cheer for each other tomorrow, too, when we make it through the week.

(And now I am going to make a phone call I need to make, and then go have lunch, which will actually be belated breakfast, and get on with the constructiveness.)

surprised by how much joy there is in life
I was at the workbench just now, taking refuge in the sangha of makin' stuff, as they say, and it just hit me again that I was happily thinking of some things Mike had said, and of various trips we had taken and things we had done.

So here's another one of those letters to him that I write now and then:
    Oh, beloved man.

I love you. I miss you. And you still make me smile.

I'm so happy I was yours, and that you were mine.

P.S. I do miss being called "Most Precious Possession" an awful lot, though.

You know what, though? They're right. It does get better.

    ArtLog: confession and new work
I confess that I have been flying for refuge to the sangha of the workbench a lot this week, because it's been a &^#@% of a pain week. This means I'm behind on packing sale stuff by a day, as I wanted to pack yesterday, and it might be two days depending on how tonight goes. But that's the situation, and I'm just going to say so straight up, and then go onward.

So, do you want to hear about the work in progress? I've got a whole bunch of new work, too, including a major necklace, and a run of pieces in the Post-Colonial Literature of Elves series, using those cool stone beads TNH and I found in February; one of the latter pieces is a linked bracelet, and there are lots of earrings and some pendants, too, with necklaces to come. The work in progress, though, is a necklace that jumped on me totally unexpectedly today, and is almost done already. I ran across a bunch of dinosaur bone in the attic* and some lampwork glass beads, and, well, there you go: I'm mostly through "Odd Dinosaur Out." Pictures when I can. Much love to all. Send a search party if I don't come out in a day or two.

    * We will now pause while [info]papersky has a moment of delight. Thank you.
