a very silly dream I forgot to post a very silly dream I had last night.
papersky and I were going to a grocery store in Montreal, a really big one. Next to the door there was a statue, and a little ways away was a very curious plaque that it took me a minute or two to figure out was a rebus. The first two pictures were a musical note and a pear. The statue had a very religious look to it, flowing robes and all that. After a bit of puzzling out the second line, which I think started with a ring of keys, I realized from the line breaks and the possible translations that it was a rebus of English words that sounded like French words. Then I looked at the statue, realized it was Kermit the Frog, and cracked up.
I don't
think I've ever had religious feelings about Kermit, but the rebus was clearly a bilingual word-and-picture-play version of the Lord's Prayer.
I woke up and told
truepenny about it. She was amused. I remarked that in the dream, I just sort of shrugged and thought, "Maybe it's a Montreal thing."
(What I really think it means it that my dream-generator thinks I should get on with reviewing French so that I can have some hope of lip-reading Quebecois when I go to Worldcon in Montreal, is what I think.)
