post-Minicon Mondayfulness Am hanging out with truepenny and getting a little work done. (OK, actually a lot, which is nice. Company while working is a fine thing today.) Took a break for breakfast, and looked at a few things on-line. Was reminded that I want to ask papersky about what sort of creature from Wales might be the right one to match with a character. He's actually a real person: Potato Creek Johnny. (So who's from Wales, stands about 4'3", and would be lucky enough to find a huge gold nugget? And would have that amazing smile?) (I'm fond of Potato Creek Johnny because I was told family stories about ancestors that met him or knew him.) In other news, we're going to try to photograph all the shinies today and post them so you guys can see what I've been working on. And if I'm going to do that, I might as well make it a sale, so expect to see some discounts. Whee! | | 3:22p |
ArtLog: shinies on sale - ALL DONE - THANK YOU ALL! 12:01 Monday: I will now proceed to the following: Please check out the special extra-cool giveaway prize of Windfall-y Goodness that will be coming to some lucky person at the end of the sale. (The end of the sale is midnight CDT on Sunday, March 30.) Aaaaand the winner is: yarnivore![Please note that the pieces on gold filled wire are still at the old prices. I have not marked them up to compensate for the recent insane rise in precious metal prices, so you're getting a serious deal there. Also: I add named things alphabetically, so don't just look at the end of each list for new goodies. The unnamed ones, though, I'll add to the ends of their respective lists. Unsold things are now boldface for the final hour of the sale, to make it easier for you.]Necklace-crowns: “Conversations with the Wallpaper” – glass and sterling silver $190 SOLD “Fantasy in Red and Black” – glass and sterling silver $265 $250 $210 “The Moving Particle Writes” – labradorite and sterling silver $210 $190 "Neptune's Daughter" necklace-crown: gold filled wire, slab pearls, Swarovski crystals in various almost-clear colors. I was playing with the off-white pearls and the elusive colored highlights that dance on them, as well as trying out a very flexible design. See how I can curl it around (carefully!) almost twice? I think this might be handy if pinning it around a chignon or whatchamacallit. $450, and would be a lot more if I took the gold prices today into consideration, so no markdown here. "The Oldest Mermaids Are the Most Beautiful" $410 sale price: $175 $165 SOLD Linked necklaces: "All the Currents Are One Current; All the Tides, One Tide" necklace: gold filled wire, labradorite, aquamarine, Swarovski crystal, metal, prehnite, plastic, lampwork glass, and so on. I tried to take pictures in a bunch of different lighting conditions to give you a good idea of it. Also, the shot of me with my chin wrinkled up is because I am in the land of ouch today. But it does give you an idea of the length of the piece and how it drapes. $625 $575 "Deadwood": wrapped links in sterling silver, lots of cool beads, including some outstanding lampwork, an antler button. and a carved bone horse. 48" long, $315 $215. Shipping's $5 domestically and $7 internationally for small things, more for heavy things and for insurance; check with me for specifics at elise@lioness.net. (Alas, these things cannot be added to the BotMo packages, as those are already at Katie's place and will go out before the sale packages. Sale goes to the end of the weekend, Sunday at midnight Central Daylight Savings Time.) Just so you know, these are not permanent markdowns. One minute after midnight, things go back up to full price. (And I turn into a pumpkin, and wake to send out many invoices. Whee!) Right after I draw the prize-winning name... which I am going to go do right now. It'll take fifteen minutes, possibly, because I have to double-check things and I am sleeeeepy... but watch this space! |
