ArtLog: mighty hunter was I, and more to come! OK, you guys on the March BotMo roster? You're getting aquamarines, because hunting was goooood today.
The only question is this: do you want a LOT of aquamarines? Because I can still go get some more.
In the morning, though, I am going to my favorite glass bead supplier (Czech beads! with AB!) and buying vast honking lots of very shiny glass. So you'll have a day or two to think about the aquamarines. |

ArtLog: BotMo triumphant shopping, and therefore a word to the wise A word to the wise about the March Beads of the Month packages on the theme of water: there will be one or two nice little aquamarines in the Basics. There will be more than three aquamarines in the Big Magpies, and possibly as many as five, depending on how some things count up and whether there are any damaged beads when I do inventory of my purchases this afternoon. And the Mother Of All Magpie packages will have some of the nicest aquamarines (not transparent by any means, but nice color and interesting in their mix of cloudiness with occasional clarity) that I have been able to purchase. I almost certainly will not be able to get ones this nice again at an affordable price, as the beads are climbing in value.
I'll try to get photographs, if I can, but there are only four spots left for MOAM in March, and possibly only three; the orders and upgrades have been coming in fast yesterday and today, and Katie's still catching up. If you're on the fence about upgrading to MOAM, I'd think of it as a very limited window of opportunity. (Any orders that come in after we're full will, of course, be refunded immediately, unless you want to be on a waitlist or something. However, we've only got two March MOAMs that aren't paid yet, and it's unlikely either of them will drop out, so there's probably not going to be waitlist joy on that particular month.)
Seriously, these are gorgeous.
Also, I got almost more AB Czech glass beads (and a few cool non-AB Czech glass beads) than I can carry, this morning. The bag is heavier than my luggage was coming here. I regard it with mingled triumph and horror, at the moment. Hee! Expect those beads in "Ooh, Shiny!!" and "Tricks of the Light" and "Winter" and "Beads of Empire" and "Metallica" and a few in "Prairie/Earth." I'll tell you more about them soon. Leaf-lovers, August is going to have something you like a lot, I think.
And now I must hunt the mammoth and hit it with a stick and eat it, for lo, I am famished. |
