ArtLog: the first tray of glass pendants Shiny!!The pictures with the blue tint were taken with a flash; the pictures with reddish tint were taken with no flash in indirect natural light. Dichroic glass is tricky to photograph, but if you average the two, you will get an idea of these pieces. The top row is backed with cobalt blue glass, the second row is red glass for the first two and blue-grey for the third, and the bottom row is all what looks like black glass but may be a very dark opaque purple. All of these pendants have the glass at the top forming a loop, and it's large enough to take a thick braided cord or a stout chain or other big necklace thingy. ( The fiddly bits. )Anyhow, shiny! See? And don't forget to look at page 2 there. | | 12:39p |
weather Last night was quite something. As the Finnosotans might say, "Rained."* Juan and I ran, or rather walked, the water gauntlet on our way to see Serenity. We were pretty soaked when we got there, even though it's only a block and a half from the bus. Some places in the metro area got more than six inches of rain, though I don't think we got over 5 right here. There's current rainfall data available that says we were lucky compared to the folks up by Isanti who got nine inches in the last 24 hours. Kinda soggy around here lately. * The classic Finnosotan exchange last night would probably have been: "Raining." "I guess!" (This exchange happens while the first person, who has just entered the business establishment or home or shared shelter space of the second person, is wringing out their shirttail to find something to wipe the rain off their glasses with, while simultaneously taking their first deep breath that does not contain major amounts of rain.) | | 6:00p |
Stefanie is a goddess. My friend Stefanie came over yesterday and today and helped me sort through a whole bunch of stuff and get rid of a lot of clutter. She is a goddess. This is quite clear to me.
I helped her and her spousal unit Mark, to whom I often refer as Bro Mark, my unofficially adopted brother, pack when they moved to La Crosse a year or so ago, and then again when they moved to Syracuse a month or so ago.
