ArtLog: new work, and also Beads of the Month Finished the rainbow Swarovski crystal and sterling silver fairy wings (wearable by Barbie doll), and I think the color gradations came out reasonably well.
shamanix took pictures, but I have not seen them yet; will put the link in when I do. Also finished one sterling silver crown (all this is Barbie stuff) with blue pearly glass bead, one gold filled crown with garnet, one gold filled tiara, and something else I don't recall. Also made a few pairs of earrings, and a sterling silver bracelet with some interesting beads that were sent my way by
autumnesquirrel. (Thanks!)
Am currently contemplating taking a piece apart that was a test necklace. The test was adequate; unfortunately, the design was not.
More soon. Oh, one pair of the earrings was little tiny tigereye elephants. And I remember what else I made: hair ornaments like the one I made for
lcohen. (That series actually started with Maddy Gaiman, who has the very first one, which was invented while she and I were playing with beads once when Neil was on the phone doing biz. I love how many things get invented in between doing one thing and another thing.)
So much of art is serendipity. I wonder what that necklace will be like when I take it apart and then bend the loose ends into spirals and see what it might want from there.
Also, Beads of the Month for October will definitely be Focal Point Beads. I'm a little nervous about this one, because it's so different from the variety usually included, but it will be very good to beta-test it precisely for that reason. If people want to trade beads around, they can certainly do that. (If it would be helpful, I could open a BotMo trade entry for doing just that.) Or do you pretty much like everything you've gotten so far?
