getting better at letting go of impedimentia
Apparently I am getting better at letting go of stuff. I just sorted out some rubber stamps to go on eBay. When I was finished, the ones I was keeping fit in one drawer of the five-drawer tiered mini-file, and I had forty-seven individual stamps plus a multi-stamp Bad Badtz set to go to auction.

Stamps are lovely fun, and I really admire the art that some people make with them, but I'm not doing that now. Moreover, I already have an art, and I shall concentrate on it. (Which is not hard at all, as it sometimes crowds almost everything else out of my brain; ask Mike or Shamanix -- Juan's used to it, after nearly twenty years.) Other people do wonderful rubberstamp collage art; I shall enjoy their work. (Maybe trade for it now and then, if I'm lucky.)

Anyhow, I'm ready to let those things go. I haven't decided yet whether I'll add the meerkats stamp to the pile, and I am still strongly considering making a fringed velvet scarf with the Michael Manning image on it, but we shall see. I just might add them to the forty-seven plus. I'll post something here when the auctions are ready to go up, in case any of you are rubber stamp fiends. (Are you?)

ArtLog: new design, with peektures!!! Ooh, and a sale price for the grand unveiling.
I am pleased to announce a new line of earrings called "Mary Pinckney's Flowers," which were inspired by a friend and created to celebrate the winter holidays of 2003-2004. "Mary Pinckney's Flowers" combine glass flower beads and cultured freshwater pearls with sterling silver or gold filled findings. Each earring carries a blossom with three tiny rice pearl stamens.

details, colors, metals, prices, and so on.... )

Addendum: I have found a few more beads, in a weird ghosty-white-fading-to-grey-green color, that would be very neat with "black diamond" shade crystals at the bases. And I WILL post something when I run out of beads of particular colors, so until you see it here, you can go ahead and select something that you've seen someone else also choose, because all the parts are in stock right now. (Feeding frenzy on blues and purples! Whee!) However, I am going to try to get another pic of the green-yellow ones, because they have hints of blue in there, almost, too. A most magical combination, in my opinion. Well, I like them all, really, or I wouldn't have bought the beads. One of my rules is I only work on stuff I like. Or love.

ArtLog: more new floral earring work (with pictures!)
While I was playing with the floral beads for Mary Pinckney's Flowers, the newest earring design, I made two pairs of other floral earrings. As you might be able to see here, one is the same kind of floret in dark blue but with two tiny spirals of sterling silver instead of the three rice pearl stamens, and the other uses magenta-and-blue flowers of a slightly different shape. At the moment, these are the only two pairs I've done, and they're under the heading of "miscellaneous sterling silver earrings" in the $25 category. Inquiries may be sent to elise at lioness dot net.

ArtLog: new subscription program (Beads of the Month)
One of the things that bead people do is accumulate cool stuff. Sometimes we accumulate way more of it than we can use. Now, I know there are a lot of you who also like making jewelry, or who have jewelry-making friends that you like to support and encourage, which is cool. So for those of you who like to DIY (Do It Yourself) or who have your own pet bead people handy, as well as for those of you who just like carrying neat beads around to play with, I'm going to try a program called Beads of the Month.Click here for the nitty-gritty details. )

Even if you don't want to play, encouraging words on the project are welcome. Thanks! (Oh, and just FYI, the first month's goodie bag is likely to include ocean jasper, among other things. I adore ocean jasper, which is probably why I have mumble-mumble pounds of beads of it. Want a couple beads?)

Addendum: PayPal yes. (And there was much rejoicing.)
