I hang my head in shame.
Crap. I felt so lousy last night and today that I forgot my friend Mark was in town and going to be at the parade.

I am a bad friend.

*incoherent disagreement*

(in my world, fibro and other crashes trump ability to be places for friends; said friends understand that)

Yeah, but... when said friend has also been having challenging times...

I'm just bummed at myself, and kinda aghast.

Errrrm.

"I didn't live up to my standards of friendship in this case."? "And my reasons were understandable."? "And Mark will forgive me."?

Just sayin'

A guy could argue with you. And a guy would be right to do so.

But also a person could see that they would react really, really similarly in similar circumstances, and in fact have done so recently. And then a person could sit quietly and acknowledge the suckitude of the thing.

I'm not going to argue with you.

I'm just going to remind you that reading the part of Peacock in /Arcadia/ is something that I'd never have sought out on my own, and is something I wound up doing in your own front room thanks to your bringing together several of our mutual friends for the purpose of reading that play out loud together. And I've cherished the experience ever since.

Making beautiful jewelry is definitely not the only good work you still do.
