ArtLog: in progress and new work (with photos!)
in progress:

"Her Mermaid" necklace
"The Mermaid Dreams of Land" necklace
a nameless-as-yet cool thing

new work:

"Twilight Has Two Doors" necklace: sterling silver, opals with purple and other flash, color-treated shell/pearl, glass, and wistfulness, I think. No price yet.

OK, and now I get back to work. Preferably on the editing, which is due, and which is definitely deep in the alligator-wrestling phase now. The alligator is smirking openly, drat it.

"Twilight Has Two Doors" is the one Mary Kay will need a saving throw for, right? Ravishing.

Mary Kay and Pat Kight and a few other people, yep.

I suspect that Pat Kight is also going to want to have "Her Mermaid."

*wry grin* They know me too well.

Alas, I may have to sit this one out. The new camera and recent travels have tapped the discretionary income pretty dry.

I'm sure there will be more available when you have discretionary income again. The Lioness is a very productive Lioness indeed (sitting next to her at Potlatch, watching a necklace getting made... oh my).

I have a fondness for purple in its various forms, so these are all tempting. Hope you beat the alligator soon.

"Her Mermaid" makes me want to stick my head through the monitor to get closer. What a lovely piece.

"Her Mermaid" just turned into two necklaces. Or maybe three. I took a break from rewrite/edit, and it jumped on me. They jumped on me, I mean.

Back to the noun foundry for a while for me. Hoping to get this thing done tonight, so I have tomorrow free.

They are all nice, but I especially like twilight. With opals it promises to be expensive.

With the cool but unnamed thing, the name that popped up in my head was "the Lilac Fairy's Bubble Bath."

But, as [info]kijjohnson and I say to each other all the time, You can make different decisions than I do.

I was looking at Twilight Has Two Doors and saying firmly to myself it's silver, and anyway, too purple, and there will be someone for it, and I found myself making up a person for it, tallish, robust, with thick dark curly hair and a face with laugh lines, and then a world for her to be from, and now she has a name, Tomaris. I don't know what she does except striding about wearing that necklace on greenish wool and laughing.

They are all lovely, but "Twilight" is spectacular, as was "The Water-Nymph Has No Regrets." If I were wealthy, I would buy them both, and hang them in my windows to catch light and magic, and be happy.
