ArtLog: Here be shinies! 24-hour Clearance Sale! ALL DONE NOW.
This clearance sale happened on Monday, midnight to midnight, my time, which is Central Daylight Savings Standard Time , or Roooooosevelt Time, as a certain dear one would have said. (Yes, I am easily confused. You see? Sorry about that.) It's done, so now things go back to regular prices. See instructions at the end of this post for how to buy something. Please double-check them, especially if you're an old hand at this: the orders must go to the gimme address, not my regular e-mail, since I sort the queue on that address for the sale, and only look at my regular ones later. I'm sorry to have to be so strict about this, but things are getting down to the minute these days, and I have to be strict in order to be fair. Thanks for understanding.

necklace-crowns
"Defence of the Realm" necklace-crown: sharp pointy fragile kyanite chunks on sterling silver wire, made for a little neck. (It's too tight on me, and I wear about a 14" choker.) $270 $220 $205. Very cool, but definitely a theatrical piece, and wants careful wearing. GOING TO SOMEBODY FOR A FITTING AND APPROVAL

"The Oldest Mermaids Are the Most Beautiful" $410 $210 $190.

"The Sound of Yes" $500 $210 $200. SOLD

linked necklaces
"Deadwood": wrapped links in sterling silver, lots of cool beads, including some outstanding lampwork, an antler button. and a carved bone horse. 48" long, $315 $265 $250.

"My Sweet Circus Baby III" 32" long. $120 $60, and the woman in it looks like she's part cat. SOLD

"Rock-Nymph, In Thy Orisons": some stunning Imperial jasper and other stones on sterling silver. I got carried away in the photographing because, well, Imperial jasper is just that cool. (Another set of photos here were taken earlier; note the temporary tag and imprecise measurement.) 31 1/2" long, $150, and a complete steal at that price and a wild sale price of $130. SOLD

"Shadowclimber": cool stuff on sterling silver. 45" long, $105 $90. SOLD

"The Ones Who Know: VI" (Women of Japan and the Sea) 102 1/2" long. $295 $165. SOLD

"The Ones Who Know: VII" (Women of Japan and the Sea) 102 1/2" long. $375 $210. SOLD

"Walking with the Lightning Lady" 143" long, with amazing L-shaped beads that are actually little mirrors. $420 $300. SOLD

"What Can Blight Can Bless (I)": lots of stuff on sterling silver. 92 1/2" long, $270 $220 $190 $150.

unnamed stone necklace: oval stones on sterling silver. 16" long, $80 $68. SOLD

hedgehog necklaces
"The Kind that Burns" 18 1/2" long. This was a lovely complicated thing to do, since there are more colors of Swarovski crystal here than you might think at first look. $310 $165. SOLD

hair ornaments
"Librarian of You-Know-Where" And no, [info]selkie_b and [info]cjsherwood, I am not trying to drive [info]jenett crazy, because if I were, it would have been in blue and silver and I didn't have any. $50 $39. SOLD

"The Mermaid's Vanity" $80 $45. SOLD

"Snow Is Just Water Being Very Very Quiet" On a clip-comb, as usual; sterling silver chain, Swarovski crystal, and those chalcedony things they keep calling "Peruvian opal," which are still very cool. $40 $30. SOLD

"And Whose Smithy Do You Think It Is?" $28 $26. ON POST-SALE HOLD PENDING PAYMENT, YAY!

"Horizon" I don't know if this is stone or glass, but it's really, really cool. $60 $50 $35.

"In the Ice Queen's Gallery" Mixed metals. Very cool bead with colors that made me want to make this. So I did. $78 $65. SOLD

"Interstitial Geology" These beads were labeled "serpentine" when I got them. Are they? $90 $75. SOLD

"The Last Days of Titania's Court" $40 $39; this is only marked down a token dollar because it is too cool for me to stand marking it down any further. Brand new, and won't last, I am sure of it. Amazing, amazing stone. SOLD (Yep, that took about two minutes.)

"The Mountains of Tomorrow" $85 $70 $50. ON HOLD FOR POST-SALE PONDERING

"Not Beholden to You or Any Man" $31 $28. SOLD

"Path" $35 $31.50, because it's brand new.

"Pay-Per-View Elf Wrestling" $18 $15. Note the rakish bead on top, like a hat askew.

"Pay-Per-View Elf Wrestling II: Stompy Boots!" $18 $15. Stompy!

"The Secret Tree" $16 $12. Amber-colored glass under those stripey bits. SOLD

"Things the Snake Won't Tell You" $26 $23.

"Thunder and Horse" $17 $7. SOLD

fancy jasper with matte glass dangle $19 $10. SOLD

green goodness $14 $5. SOLD

hem-whatsit star with open triangle $12 $5. SOLD

jasper on sterling silver, pale green and white mottled $13 $8 SOLD

jasper with rust and orange This is just such a cool rock. $15 $5. SOLD

labradorite, mostly gold flash, hints of other colors $35 $15. SOLD

opalite glass faceted teardrop $15 $5. SOLD

pretty, pretty pale agate $13 $5. SOLD

a very bubbly-looking ocean jasper $20 $10. SOLD

very pale just-barely-blue chalcedony which is really almost white. Think of it as one of those milk-sky days. The brown matrix rock on it is cool, and there's a white cloud in it. $18 $9 $5.

whatever it is, it's a pretty rock $12 $5. SOLD

white and orange? more lavender and brown, in this light $14 $5. SOLD

earrings

"Abundance" $26 $20. ON POST-SALE HOLD

"Accoutrements for the Distinguished Genie" $38 $25. SOLD

"Advanced Methods of Cloud-Farming" (The blue is actually a smidgen darker than it looks in the photographs.) $25 $20. SOLD

"Anime Attitude" They've got AB (Aurora Borealis) shimmer on one side. $16 $13. SOLD

"The Bee-Keeper's Other House" $45 $35. SOLD

"The Homeopathic Vampire" $22 $19. SOLD

"How To Summon A Mist Creature" (these beads have Aurora Borealis shimmer on one side) $21 $16. SOLD

"In Her Footsteps" $20 $18. SOLD

"In My Imaginary Orchard" $10 $9. SOLD

"'Indian Summer'? Which Tribe?" $14 $10. SOLD

"Instinct" $14 $9. SOLD

"Karen's World" (The small cylindrical beads at the top do not glow so beautifully in every light -- I got really lucky photographing today, since the snow is acting as a perfect light diffuser. They'll be quieter and sort of blue/grey/purple in less gorgeous light. Still, they are very cool beads.) $18 $14. SOLD - to a Karen, which makes me very happy indeed.

"Lit" $20 $15. SOLD

"Nocturne in White" $32 $20. SOLD

"Not Quite Fungible" $16 $14. SOLD

"Nymph Cotillion" $21 $11, and the second photo hints at the wonderfulness of the tiny stripes of color in these faceted beads. SOLD

"Old Wine, New Birds" (The last photo is truest to the blue color, which is cobalt, not the lighter blue in the other photos, which is apparently an artifact of lighting.) $18 $15. SOLD

ornament $16 $12. SOLD

"Our Fae Cousin" $20 $18. SOLD

"Papa Ogun's High-Tech Children" $13 $10. SOLD

"Pixie Riddles" $16 $13. SOLD

"Pixie Weather" Fragile but cool. The slabby pearls spin around. I am not responsible for whatever your cat might take a notion to do when you wear these, though. $32 $25. SOLD

"Red Hot Mama Goddess To You, Buster" (little brass lipstick charms! GF wires, though, so as not to set off allergies.) $22 $18 $15.

"The Refined Pirate's Tea Party" (Purple! Shhh, I'm trolling for Kights.) (Caught one, too!) $26 $22. SOLD

"Riverbank Days" $16 $11. SOLD

"Sunwish" $18 $12. SOLD

"Textual Pirates" (Much more purple than pink, despite the photos.) $23 $20. SOLD

"Two Things I Know About Pumpkins" $15 $10. SOLD

"Unpredicted Sky Moods" (First, I think this title would be much better in not-English, and second, the beads are Swarovsky's "alexandrite" color, if my note is correct, and as such, they are lavender in some lights and blue in others. In no light are they as rosy as they look, but there you see the limitations of this Lioness as photographer. Sigh.) $28 $23. SOLD

"What the Deer Believe" Oh, I love these colors so! The shell is mother-of-pearl, really. Gorgeous stuff. $17 $14. SOLD

"When Tink Got Angry" $18 $14. SOLD

"The Woodbine Tradition" $17 $13. SOLD

"www.zombi@home.com" Don't ask me; I just work here. $20 $15. SOLD

doll and toy jewelry
"My Little Pony Is A Zombie Queen" Crown that fits My Little Ponies. Be aware that you have to kind of wriggle it on over the ears, after pulling the top bit of the mane through. $12 $9. SOLD

"My Little Pony Feasts on the Flesh of Drowned Sailors" Crown that fits My Little Ponies. (It also fits Barbie dolls, but you'll want to bend it carefully into a circle if you get it for this purpose. If you bend it back and forth much, it'll do what a paperclip does when you do that, though, so be careful.) Be aware that the pearls are fake and they are shedding their pearly coating, and that this is intentional. That's why they're described as "scabrous" on the tag. Also, the weird blue-verdigris chain might conceivably discolor the hair of the doll/toy if you leave it on for a long time. But then, if your doll or toy is the sort that feasts on the flesh of drowned sailors, that's probably a fashion statement in its own right. $25 $18, and this one is more than the other one for the reason given on the tag. SOLD

How this works:
The only way to get one of these is to send e-mail to gimme@lioness.net. You can comment all you like here, safe in the knowledge that you cannot accidentally buy something or put it on hold or whatever. I'll send invoices at the end of the sale, unless you request them earlier.

(Oh, almost forgot: shipping is $5 US (unless things are very heavy), and somewhat higher elsewhere -- usually about $7, unless Katie tells me it should be more; please do inquire if you're buying weighty plunder or if you're outside the U.S. Likewise, please inquire for quotes on insurance and/or priority or express mail, OK? And yes, if you bought something in the art marathon I just concluded, we'll combine shipping.)

Special reward-for-spamming-your-friendslist offer!

Put a link in your LJ about this 24-hour thing, leave a pointer for me here, and buy something from this page and I will add some cool surprise to your order. (Please specify whether you prefer beads or jewelry. If you don't specify, or prefer to be surprised even more than usual, I shall choose at my whim.)

I can't afford to buy anything in this sale, especially since I've already asked you to put a certain lovely piece on Layaway for me. However, I am a fan of people finding shinies, so I will definitely be linking to this on my journal!

This will be interesting. I have a hunch that a certain style is the one that would work: it's a particular strong-yet-delicate thing that I haven't done for a while. Hmm. I should oughtta try one of those again.

(Reply to this) (Thread)

[info]elisem
2007-12-10 04:56 pm UTC (link)
It wants very heavy hair, and already secured hair, I think, unless you're good at the hair ornament affixing thing. (I, alas, have eensy short hair these days and cannot test the design. But that's my guess from what I recall. I think it's more of a cocktail umbrella than a structural thing, but one never knows; people are more talented than I with these things, easy, and it does have nice long spikes.)

How long is "The Sound of Yes"? It is very beautiful.

I shall have to go measure it, but I know that it will fit a 14 1/2" neck, because I wore it to test the balance, and it worked. The best thing would be for you to measure the base of your neck, where it could sit comfortably, and tell me.
