If you're trying to contact Minneapolis....
... e-mail works better than phone right now, at least cellphone. The collapse of the 35W bridge downtown might have taken out some telecommunications stuff, or maybe everybody's just trying to phone Minneapolis; in eather case, the network here seems to be hosed at the moment.
(We are OK; Juan's setting out for home now; we are all hoping that everybody on the bridge makes it through.)
OH. For those of you who don't know yet: The 35W 4-lane freeway bridge over the Mississippi River collapsed a few minutes after six p.m. tonight. They are working at getting everybody out. No word yet on deaths and injuries. Some initial good news, like all the kids on the schoolbus being rescued alive, though not unhurt.
